Myfairpoint.net - Robtex Myfairpoint.net is a domain controlled by three domain name servers at myfairpoint.net themselves.
I tried to log on to the new Fairpoint portal this morning and it said the following: Unfortunately, the User Name and Password that you entered are not valid. Please re-enter your login information. You must contact FairPoint Internet Technical Support at 800-240-5019 to reset your password. After an hour of being on hold (got hung up on twice) I finally got a hold of someone from tech support. It seems that verizon created (at least for me) a cryptic account name and the email address I chose was tagged as an alias to the name. So when the swap over happened they did the vz12al. Name instead of my real email address.
This affects the email forwarding and other things done in the swap over, so I was told. The person put a trouble ticket in to make the changes to the correct names (I have one primary and 4 sub-accounts) hope fully they can resolve this soon. Till now I never even knew there were aliases used by verizon, I setup the account as email addresses not an alias? Has anyone else had this problem? Took a second but was able to manually set up my primary username and allias accounts with Windows Mail. All 3 work fine.
Also tried webmail and didn't like the format, all mail was sent with 'vzexxxxx' as the email addy, couldn't find any place to change that. Incoming email is still being obtained with verizon.net extension as well as myfairpoint.net.
Outgoing email has the myfairpoint.net extension only. With Windows mail, just remember if it asks you to verify your username and password for the server, use your vzexxxx name and normal password. Thats where it threw me for a loop. Hopefully this is the only glitch with the transformation cause I still have Comcasts number on speed dial LOL. Yes, I am having this problem as well.
Was on the phone with a Fairpoint tech for over 30 minutes - he cannot find my account - and on live chat with Verizon at the same time - I cannot get into my Verizon account to get stored messages or contacts etc. Verizon is saying they cannot help me. This whole thing is unacceptable - only new messages from Saturday will be forwarded to the new account - if it can be found - what about the old info? Was there any warning about this?
I don't remember seeing a word. I am glad I am not alone, and have not lost my mine. I did get a letter in snail mail saying that my [email protected] was going to change to [email protected], BUT PASSWORD was going to remain the same. When I made the change, it said that password did not work, enter RIGHT pass word. NO LUCK of course.
I did get a email, from FAIRPOINT, but when I looked at TO: it had some other email address that I had never had, or seen before. HIMMMMMMMM this is very strange, so I reply back saying this is NOT ME, this is not my email address? And yes it did start with a VZEECLUU. REALLY strange, and of course I do not even understand. I did try to call the tech support number and it is busy!!!
I went to live chat, waited and waited, t be said there was no more live chat. I have Windows mail, that is like out look express, so my contact info is still there, I have not lost any thing YET. I am lucky to even get on line as fairpoint is my broadband service too. PLEASE IF ANY ONE GETS THROUGH TO THEM PLEASE POST, TO HELP OTHERS, AND I WILL DO THE SAME. Thank you, KEP from NH. There is a massive issue going on with Fairpoint right now.
They promised that your Verizon mail accounts would be intact for 30 days after the switch but they bungled something up. Right now Verizon has all the email being sent to your Verizon account forwarding to your user account at Fairpoint but Fairpoint's server is considering it spam, and blocking it for abuse. On top of that they've managed to lose a lot of account information. I am a technology director for a school system who used Verizon for ATM services and a friend of mine is an IT manager for an ISP where I live.
We got our mail issues sorted but the ISP is still in trouble because Fairpoint swears that their ISP doesn't own the IP addresses that it DOES own.and because of that the PTR records are all screwed up and his reverse DNS isnt working.which is effectively killing his mail system for all of his customers. Don't hesitate to call and complain about this. When you get level 1 tech support.ask immediately to be escalated to a higher tier of tech support. Complain.and when they get enough calls, maybe they'll do something about it. We've run into problems with fairpoint before.we had our ISP go down for an entire day once.only because they had to escalate the situation to the VP of the NE region before they did anything.and then.they found out it was a human error that caused the problem to begin with. So.as I said.keep the pressure on. Good luck all.
