Feb 19, 2015. I'm a customer of the Capital One brand on a global basis as far as I'm concerned. And my expectations have been sent to the floor by YET another flipping credit card that's arrived with a FLIPPING sticker on it, demanding I make a phone call, between SPECIFIC 'office hours' in order to use my card. Simply visit to active your new card. You'll be asked to create a CapitalOne account (or login to your current one). How to Activate Capital One Card Online - Capital One Credit Card activation.
Visit jdpower.com. UPDATE: I am now receiving notifications after trying a suggestion made by a helpful Capital One employee. So far everytime I have had to contact them it has been a good experience.
Thanks Capital One! ORIGINAL REVIEW: I am not getting instant notifications when I use my card. It worked in the Wallet app, but I received a notice that said notifications would now come through the Mobile app. Push notifications are on, and though my transactions show up when I open the app, the instant notifications are not showing up. I really hope this issue gets fixed because the instant notifications are the reason I use the Capital One apps. I noticed now my balance dosent update when i use my card nor does the wallet app send me notifications stating that my card was used. Capital one you have to do better. With all the interest you charge on credit cards and all the people you sue and screw out of money you can do better.
You also need to add the notification to your mobile app that notifies you that your card has been used. Instead i have to also have the wallet app along with the mobile app to get this feature and now wallet doesnt even notify me anymore. Capital one screw you. I'm happy that my son got a c.c. From Cap 1 and his checking also but I'm an authorized user and it affects my credit score as well when payments are late and what not. 2 months in a row now we've made payments and days later are told that they payment was reversed. So what started as a 30000 credit now has a balance of almost 400.00 because of the payments not being taken out in a timely manner.
Not because we haven't tried maeking the payment, but because something or someone is reversingbthem and making our balance even higher with the interest. I've emailed and gotten absolutely no response. So you're lucky I'm giving 3 stars at all. I like the simplicity and interface.
Easy to transfer money, make payments, and adjust notifications. This is my favorite banking app. But every time I open the app, it has a pop up box saying it 'signed me out'. Get rid of the box and just have me sign in again. I know you signed me out!
I expected that. Venmo had me sign in each time I leave the app to look at something else. With fingerprints and pins, I don't mind taking two seconds, just get rid of the box. It's annoying because it makes the tech people at my bank (something I want to completely trust) seem clueless (even though they aren't). Last week, they locked everyone out of their account so we would have to call to reset our password.
Someone, somehow, thought this was a better idea than sending letters asking people to just change their passwords. Today, exactly one week later, the app and online services are down. Completely unaccessible. We can't transfer money, can't even see how much we have in our account. This is just getting unbelievable.
I just called to see if I can at least be told what my account balance is before I take my 2 year old shopping in the cold. The guy said the phone I'm calling from matches the phone on my account. I gave the guy my full name, full social security name, and he asks me to give him my full debit card number. I really, REALLY don't feel safe doing that when y'all don't even know why people can't get into their accounts. Y'all need to get it together because this is THE WORST bank I've ever had an account with.
Update: So it's been way over 8 months and my problem hasn't been fixed. I still get log into the app. Don't know why it keeps saying that my number isn't in the system.
I got an email over a month ago saying they fix the problem. But apparently it still doesn't work. It makes my want to get give up.my accounts with capital one. I shouldn't have to log in through the internet to make this work. And I feel as though Capital one isn't really helping my problems and trying to fix it. Like can't I delete my account and get a new one? Like a new user name or something.
I've used this app for years. Ever had a problem. Recently it stop working. It doesn't let me log in any more. It keeps saying that I need to add my contact info which of course is there already. I did contact Cap One and they have said they don't know what's going on because all my info is up to date.
I've tried deleting the app and downloading it again about 5 times so far and nothing. I hate having to use the web browser when it's better to use the app.
And apparently Cap One said many people are calling in with the same issue. Please fix this fast. Used to have another bank, once I switched over to Capital One 360 I haven't looked back. Every now and then I get emails from Capital One on updates they make and it ends up being things that actually make my life easier, like the update on this app for instance! Update 12/19/17 Random popup from the app asking me to rate again (maybe cuz of my new phone?) and guess what. Still no problems.
No glitches, nothing. Capital one has been nothing short of amazing and patient with me even when I owed them. This is the perfect combo of an online and brick and mortar bank especially if you live in NYC. App itself is effective. Needed to get wallet app in order to accomplish other things (that this app does not do).
Should be all inclusive with one app (IE this app). But it's better than most CC apps. Response to YOUR response: MY POINT EXACTLY. Why should a user have to download another app? Why doesn't this app just also do what the wallet app does?
AND NOW THAT APP IS BEING FURTHER LIMITED. Why can't I classify Purchases with this app anymore as well? One if the best features removed. And it's ridiculous that it takes two apps to do what would be easily accomplished with one app - both of these apps are so similar they could easily be combined into one app. I don't need 400 apps on my phone, which is what your frivolous two-app system is doing (along with the countless other mindless two-app systems, a plethora of other companies also require).
I like my business, my phone, my life, to be streamlined. Not bungled up.
Capital One should step up and SET THE STANDARD. Combine your apps.
