So someone asked for a list of the shrine effects they could access directly from the Steam overlay while in-game, just for convenience's sake. I tried searching for one and didn't find any. If anyone finds another that was published before mine, please let me know.
I would be more than happy to remove mine out of respect for the original guide(s). I will cover only the basics for the time being (images of the shrines, their effects, and some of their locations). I have taken all of the information from this guide either directly from the UESP or from my own game experience. Hope you all can enjoy and that this might help some of you out! This guide was made as a quick-reference for those wanting to know the effects of the various shrines of the Divines and other deities within Skyrim.
Please note that I did a quick check for other similar guides and found none. If you find any that I missed and supercede my guide, please notify me politely and I will be more than happy to remove mine out of respect for the original guide(s).
Please also note that I took most of this information and these images directly from the [www.uesp.net] and that this guide is merely for the convenience of using it within the Steam overlay. Any other information or screenshots are from my own game experience.
One last thing before we begin: Note that every single shrine in the game cures all diseases currently afflicting the player character upon their activation. Each shrine's effects also last a total of eight (8) in-game hours. Therefore, I will not bother to list these two effects for each and every single one as they should be automatically applied.
Now that all this is out of the way, let's begin! Shrine of Kynareth Effect: Increases stamina by 25 points. Locations: • Inside the Temple of Kynareth in the city of Whiterun. • Inside Fort Sungard Shrine if the Forsworn occupy the fort. • Southwest of Morthal, east of the river, between the city and Crabber's Shanty. • Inside the Wreck Of The Brinehammer (on the shore, midway between the cities Dawnstar and Solitude). The shrine is lying on the floor near bookshelves.
• Inside Crystaldrift Cave, in the northwest corner of the main chamber. • On Solstheim, on a hill north of the Earth Stone. (Dragonborn DLC). Shrine of Talos Effect: TIme between shouts is reduced by 20%. Locations: • In the Temple of Talos in Windhelm.
So just wandering around dawnstar and I find this shrine of talos ( with 2 ice wraiths gg) and I activated it, and it showed blessings of talos.
• On the island directly west of Winterhold and north of Saarthal. • In a valley north of Alftand and west of Saarthal. • On an island northwest of Winterhold and to the north of Ysgramor's Tomb. • Near Windhelm, south-southwest of the city, north of Windhelm Stables on a high rock outcropping.
• In Riften, behind Black-Briar Manor. • At the Weynon Stones. • In Whiterun, next to the Gildergreen tree. • In Markarth, inside the Shrine of Talos. • Inside Fellglow Keep, on the bottom floor, between rubble and a broken altar in front of a ruined statue of Talos. • East of Whiterun, a short distance southeast of Shimmermist Cave, in a shallow alcove under a rock outcropping.
You will go here for the miscellaneous quest 'Elisif's Tribute'. • Southwest of Windhelm, on a straight line between Cradlecrush Rock and Mara's Eye Pond, at the shores of a small pond, northwest of Mixwater Mill. A statue of Talos right next to it is visible from Windhelm's entry bridge.
• Southwest of Froki's Shack, can be reached by following a path from Froki's Shack up the mountain. • Northeast of Pinewatch, apparently attacked by a Thalmor Justiciar, who will be found dead among the worshippers he slew.
• Inside Fort Sungard Shrine at Fort Sungard, southeast of Rorikstead. Only present if the fort is occupied by the Stormcloaks. Shrine of Zenithar Effect: Buying and selling prices are 10% better.
Locations: • Immediately west and just very slightly north of Four Skull Lookout on a promontory overlooking the river valley. Easily within sight of the western column of Four Skull Lookout. • Within ruins in the wilderness between Fort Greymoor and Rorikstead, immediately east of Gjukar's Monument. • West of Swindler's Den set against a large rock. There are other rocks of varying size around the area in a loose circle. • Northeast of Riften Stables. Take the road north from the stables then turn east immediately after the guard towers.
Look up the hillside. There's also an Amulet of Zenithar on the table. • On Solstheim, northeast of Frostmoon Crag, reached from Fahlbtharz. (Dragonborn DLC). Obviously, I didn't put a whole lot of effort into this guide. Afterall, half of the information is copy-paste'd right from the [www.uesp.net]. But as I said before, I made this only for the sake of convenience for those who'd rather have the information right on the Steam overlay.
Also, please note that the listed locations may or may not be all of the shrine locations. More may be hidden out there in the world of Skyrim. So don't be surprised if you find one in a place that wasn't listed. I may expand upon this guide if I ever get the time and urge to do so. If it's requested, I may just add in the amulets and their effects as well. Thank you for reading, and I hope it helped!
*Yes, there is a lot of stuff missing at the moment (images, amulets, etc.). I'll more than likely add it all in later, but I honestly just don't feel like putting it in right now. So deal with.
Shrines can be found all over the skyrim, each shrine belongs to certain Aedra(they are something like gods in skyrim). Once you activate a shrine you will be cured of all curses and get a blessing(passive bonus) that lasts for 8 hours or until you activate another shrine.
